Item Description
A really cool and certainly hard to find pseudomorph of Muscovite replacing a Tourmaline crystal from the lesser known locality of Noyes Mountain Quarry (often called the Harvard Quarry), Maine. The piece still retains the original trigonal shape of the Tourmaline crystal, with a sharp, shallow pyramidal termination on one end. One of the few pieces of this material that I've seen, and certainly more than worthwhile for any collector o the material to pick up for their collection. How often does one encounter pseudomorphs involving Tourmaline?? From the collection of noted Colorado geologist, Allen V. Heyl, for whom the species Aheylite was named.
