Item Description
The Malkhan pegmatites have been known for many years and this has to be an old-timer, probably dating to the Czarist era. This piece was formerly in the John Ydren Collection, a collector in the 1950s to 70s. The pretty gemmy and lustrous, translucent crystal has the variably multi-colored look typical to many Malkhan tourmalines, from rose-red, to yellow-green, to nearly pink. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, a contact with no damage, per se, is noted on the termination, as is a trival spot edgewear. Showy, old-time material. 2 grams.
