Multi-color Agate (Briolette)

Agate is not something that we typically see faceted into gemstones, but years ago there was a discovery of some really beautiful gem quality Agate in Brazil that was suitable for cutting. This beautiful briolette cut stone features multi-color banding with warm orange and golden zones broken up by colorless areas near the thin end of the gem. Briolettes are the kind of stones that I think make a great novelty for a collector, or would certainly make a very attractive piece of jewelry.
