Mottramite on Calcite(?) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A great example of dendritic/arborescent, sparkling, medium green Mottramite sitting on Calcite (?) from Tsumeb. The crystallization is good for the species, and looks beautiful under magnification. The label notes that the piece is fairly heavy for its size, so there may be a lead mineral present giving it some extra weight. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8633). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
