Item Description
Mottramite is a common secondary accessory ore mineral from famed Tsumeb, but seldom does it produce sculptural, aesthetic and displayable specimens, such as this unusual two-sided piece. One side is mostly covered with a scuptural first generation of matte, bubbly grayish-brown botryoids. The other side, end and part of the first side have a striking, sparkly secondary overgrowth of tiny lustrous charcoal-gray mottramite needles, adding character and pizzazz. An exceptional, unusual and uncommon 2-generation mottramite from Tsumeb. Probably older material from the Upper Oxidized Zone, but no proof.
