Morganite with Tourmaline (Larson Coll.)

Item Description

A really cute, RARE, classic and aesthetic morganite with tourmaline combination thumbnail from the Elizabeth R. Mine. Morganite is a signature species from this well-known San Diego County pegmatite. The stunning water-clear C-axis face looks like a TV screen looking into the gem interior dramatically highlighted by the three included tourmalines. The pretty pastel-pink textbook, hexagonal crystal is very blocky for the size and has typical frosted satin lustre prism faces. Complete all-around, more tourmalines on the back and the bit of quartz and feldspar matrix are excellent accessories. This fine morganite was recovered while Roland Reed owned the mine between 1980 and the late 1990s.
