Morganite with Kunzite and Quartz

Item Description

A spectacular combination piece unlike any other we have seen from these famous gem pegmatites of Afghanistan, this is a 6 cm, perfect "Stop Sign" of morganite hanging smartly off of a kunzite crystal for matrix! You could not position the morganite better, like a button just stuck onto the side edge of the vertical pink kunzite behind it, centered and unlikely as it is beautiful. The more you look at this, the more detail and subtlety you see in the composition. The morganite is complete, fully formed, perfectly equant, and has good translucency to it. It is pastel pink in the outer region, grading to stronger pink in the center of the crystal (maybe a morganite core, wrapped by goshenite, if you think about it). It is not the strongest or gemmiest morganite but has elements of different styles combined into one specimen that really make it special. The piece has no repairs or damage and is complete all around. The central pedestal of kunzite also supports associated feldspar and quartz. It is, simply, a unique specimen. This specimen was Donated by Stuart Wilensky/Wilensky Exquisite Minerals of New York City and is valued $12500-15000 (at a minimum). It comes with a custom base.
