Item Description
Pakistan morganites are very rare compared to Afghanistan pieces, and this is an outstanding example is from the Wally Mann Collection of miniatures. The very thick, tabular crystal has fine, vibrant, pastel-pink color and the presentation face of this textbook, hexagonal crystal is gem, water-clear and has the "garden effect" looking to the back of the crystal. Nearly all of the side faces are also water-clear. The bit of cleavelandite acts as a fine pedestal for this rare and aesthetic specimen. Wally purchased this piece from Joel Bartsch's collection (currently President of the Houston Musem of Natural Sciences) in 1989. The piece is formerly from the Lyman House Collection of Hilo, Hawaii. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to photograph, due to the limpid quality of the crystal. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!! Valued at $1000 for sharp form and locality rarity
