Morganite w/ Muscovite (2005 find)

The Elizabeth R. is well-known for very fine San Diego County morganite specimens and this is a very impressive and rich example collected by mine owner Roland Reed in February, 2005. Large, blocky, translucent, pretty pink to pastel-pink, morganite crystals with frosted faces are strikingly accented by the spearpoint-shaped "book" of pearlescent, silvery-gray, muscovite plates. The dramatic large morganite crystal is 5.0 x 5.0 cm. There are even a few pencil schorls scattered about. Morganite specimens of this richness and quality are quite rare. Valued at $1350.
