Morganite (RARE! - Cilen & Larson Coll.)

Item Description

Morganite is SUPER RARE from the less well-known San Pedro Mine on Hiriart Mountain. The pegmatite is better known for fine Kunzite Spodumene specimens and specimens of any species are RARE. This is a classic, gemmy, pretty pastel-pink, partially hexagonal morganite with some contacted undamaged prism faces. The crystal is actually very gemmy. The very glassy, water-clear C-axis face peers into the interior and is surrounded by typically frosted prism faces. The bit of bruising to the lower left side is certainly only a modest detraction to this true rarity. The piece could have been collected any time between the early 1900s to 1970s.
