Morganite (ex Obodda)

Item Description

A sharp, lustrous well-formed rich pink Morganite Beryl crystal from Afghanistan with minor Muscovite. Typically, Morganite is not found in sharp, euhedral crystals, and is truly only known in fine specimens from a handful of world localities. The crystal on this specimen is nearly 100% complete (it's actually crystallized on the underside where a bit of Albite and Tourmaline can be see), and shows a beautiful thick tabular habit. It has a strong pink color, with good luster in areas and well-defined crystal faces. When we put the UV light on there we saw it fluoresces a whitish-blue color. A worthwhile miniature sized display specimen of this well-known material. Specimen weight is 28.7 grams. Ex Herb Obodda inventory. Priced at $750.
