Item Description
A classic, 6.1 cm, sharp, pale pink, translucent, somewhat lustrous, blocky, hexagonal Beryl (var: "Morganite") crystal sits atop a matrix of off-white "rosettes" of Albite (var Cleavelandite) with Muscovite and black Schorl. The Morganite crystal has some slight etching in the upper portion of the crystal, which gives it a really attractive overall character. The piece displays wonderfully, and the overall aesthetics in this two-hand-size cabinet specimen are fantastic. A very attractive and well crystallized display specimen of this classic pegmatite material. You don't see a lot of matrix Morganite specimens out there, and outside of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Brazil, well crystallized Morganites on matrix are almost unheard of. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, valued at $2500.
