Morganite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

An attractive old-time Morganite specimen with minor associated Muscovite from an undisclosed locality in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The crystal is thick and gemmy, with a soft pink color and good hexagonal form. There is a "fish-eye" contact on one edge, but otherwise the crystal is in good shape. This piece easily dates back over 60 years as noted by the low catalogue number in the collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#589). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
