Item Description
Sharp hexagonal morganites from the White Queen Mine are among the most desirable San Diego County pegmatite mineral species. A 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.4 cm, sharply terminated, mostly gemmy morganite is aesthetically attached to lepidolite, cleavelandite and a bit of quartz. The termination area of this euhedral crystal is very gemmy, as some faces are water-clear and some are frosted. The bruised lower end of the morganite is a very modest detraction to the overall quality of this superb piece. Probably it is from the 1960s era, mined by Norm Dawson. Ex. Ed Ruggiero Collection and purchased from Pala Properties in 1976, according his card. Valued at $1000 and well worth it. VERY seldom on the market in this gemmy quality. NOTE ABOUT COLOR: IN PERSON THIS IS A SLIGHTLY PASTEL PINK, BUT WITH A DEFINITE HUE TO IT. IT IS NOT COLORLESS. WE HAVE NOT PHOTOSHOPPED THE PICS, SO IT IS BETTER IN PERSON
