Morganite

A group of sharp, lustrous well-formed rich pink Morganite Beryl crystal from Afghanistan. Typically, Morganite is not found in sharp, euhedral crystals, and is truly only known in fine specimens from a handful of world localities. The crystals on this specimen are nearly complete, with only minor edge wear, and shows the typical tabular habit. The piece has a strong pink color, with good luster in areas and well-defined crystal faces including some unusual overgrown areas where perhaps another mineral once existed. Great shape overall, and an accenting group of minor Muscovite makes for a good touch. When we put the UV light on there we saw it fluoresce a bit as well. A worthwhile small cabinet / large miniature sized display specimen of this well-known material. Priced at $1250.
