Item Description

A pair of sharp and well-formed Morganite Beryl crystals on white Albite from the famous locality at Darra-i-Pech (Pech) in Afghanistan. Typically, Morganite is not found in sharp, euhedral crystals, and is truly only known in fine specimens from a handful of world localities. The crystals on this specimen are not 100% complete, but show the classic hexagonal form, for which Morganite is best known. They are rather gemmy, with a soft pink color, good luster and well-defined crystal faces. Great shape overall, and pretty beautiful when backlit. A worthwhile cabinet sized display specimen of this well-known material. The largest crystal measures 2.8 cm.
