A wonderful, THICK, sharp, gemmy, RICH pink colored tabular hexagonal crystal of Morganite from Conselheiro Pena. Rarely are such thick and well-formed examples seen from Brazil, and most crystals are very thin, or heavily etched. This piece reminds me more of a crystal from Afghanistan than Brazil, especially with intense pink color. A hefty and stout Morganite from the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil"). Weight is 293 grams.
