Morganite (226 grams) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A stout, thick, sharp, lustrous, translucent, doubly-terminated, soft pink colored crystal of Morganite Beryl with minor attached Muscovite from an undisclosed locality in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The piece is in great shape overall, though it does have a contact on the underside where it was removed from the pocket. It's hard to find good Brazilian Morganites on the market these days, and this piece is a good overall display specimen of this classic material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8497). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
