Item Description
Mordenite is a rarer species of the Zeolite Group and exceptional combination examples, such as this, are relatively rare from Jalgaon. It forms fine sprays of radial acicular crystal clusters that look like pin-cushions or snowballs. Here, you see a perfect 4.5 cm "snowball" dramatically attached to a cluster of pearlescent cream-colored stilbites. The "ball" looks like a classic Hostess SnoBall cake covered with flaked coconut and the whole piece resembles Mickey Mouse with the stilbtie "ears"! A dramatic, striking, superlative and uncommon Indian specimen from the Robert Nowakowski Collection.
