Item Description
Mordenite is one of the rarer members of the zeolite family. It forms fine sprays of radial acicular crystal clusters that look like pin-cushions or snowballs. This is an excellent mordenite combination specimen from Jalgaon. Mordenite balls are aesthetically set in the amethyst lined pocket, along with partial balls showing the radial crystals growth and a calcite cleavage on one end. The overall setting gives the specimen fine balance to go along with the beautiful contrast in color. The mordenites have excellent definition, where you can actually see the terminations of the fine needles or nubs that comprise each ball. unusually nice example of this association!
