Mordenite

Some of the finest examples of Mordenite are found in various localities in the Indian state of Maharashtra, but this piece is a hard to find thumbnail specimen. Most Mordenites are larger than thumbnails, and often found on matrix, so when you get a complete "snowball" that fits inside of a one-inch cube, it's certainly not common. The piece is complete most of the way around, with no matrix, but a I can see a few tiny salmon colored blades of Heulandite on the base. A cool specimen in an uncommon size range for any fan of zeolites or minerals from India.
