Item Description

Moonstone is a varietal name given to the tranlucent Feldspar Labradorite. This particular stone is a "cat's eye" gem, and is one of the very few of it's kind that I have seen. This stone is a nice "Oval Cabochon" cut gem with a fairly disticnt "eye" running across the width of the stone (not lengthwise). There are some small leaves carved on the side of the stone as well. When it is viewed by reflected light, exhibits a faint blue-grey "sheen". This is a very attractive and hard to find Moonstone which is highly desirable among collectors.
