Typically, Moonstone gems are slightly "milky" or grey in appearance, and this gem is a great example of said material. The stone has a "Pear Cabochon" cut that shows the soft, silky interior and when the stone is viewed in reflected light, it shows the classic iridescent blue sheen for which these gems are known. Moonstones have been adored by people for thousands of years (dating back to the Romans), and for the $10 starting bid, this stone is a steal! It's not often that we have a nearly 30 carat Moonstone to offer in the auctions.
