Item Description
Super rich crusts of the extremely rare blue-green organic oxalate moolooite cover both sides of this dramatically sculptural biomorphic floater native copper specimen. The striking piece resembles a running rooster with a cockscomb and large tail feathers! This rich, colorful and sculptural rarity is from the well-known Ahmeek Mine of Copper Country, the only locality in the historic district for the species. The species was first described in 1986. Rich, rare and excellent combination material from the Josef Vajdak Collection, a noted rarities collector. A significant Michigan combination rarity. And, not the usual slab or sawed portion. It is a natural highly sculptural and colorful piece.
