Montebrasite (rare)

Montebrasite is a relatively rare stone and is only found from a few localities in top gem material. Stones like this gem are highly sought after by collectors, and deeply appreciated by those who have experience with rare gems. This particular stone has a light greenish-yellow color, and an "Oval Brilliant" cut. With the naked eye, I cannot see any inclusions in this gem, which is quite impressive for a stone this size. Montebrasite is too soft and brittle for jewelry, but these are not very common today in ANY size. This would make a great addition to any rare stone collection. It should be noted that the majority of what we see on the market labeled as Amblygonite has recently been identified as Montebrasite, and confirmed Amblygonite is now incredibly rare by comparison.
