Item Description
A rare specimen of the hydrated calcium carbonate, Monohydrocalcite, from the famous Pribram region - most likely from the Alexander Shaft. Originally, this species was discovered at Issyk Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan in 1959 and was named after its chemical composition. This is a good example of Monohydrocalcite featuring the typically pale blue-green radial groups on matrix that are well documented from this locality. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
