Item Description

Monazite, a rare REE phosphate, is EXTREMELY RARE from this Wyoming District. A superb, large, single, euhedral flattened crystal is moderately lustrous and has reddish-brown color. The back side is partially contacted and embedded with muscovite. One usually finds euxenite-(Y) crystals at this locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, and according to his label, was collected by the property owner Ralph Platt in about 1970. A real Wyoming rarity!
