Item Description
Monazite (probably Monazite-(Ce), a Ce-phosphate), is the most common member of the Monazite Group. In such sharp and well formed crystals, It is VERY RARE, as are any species, from this obscure Norway pegmatite. The sharp, lustrous, mottled-brown thumbnail crystal has typical tabular form. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). This fine older rarity probably dates to the 1950s or 60s, or even earlier.
