Item Description
A truly fine quality specimen of Monazite (the exact species is not known) from the Vohambohitra pegmatite in Madagascar. This textbook crystal is a complete "floater", totally crystallized all around with no damage or point of attachment to be seen. Every edge of the crystal is very sharp, with well-formed faces, good luster and a rich reddish-brown color. A superb piece for any fan of rarities, Madagascar minerals or thumbnails. I can say that this piece is almost certainly the best single crystal of Monazite that we've ever had to offer from this locality.
