Item Description
A rare locality species piece from this important rare earths locality. The famous large Trimouns Talc Mine is noted for REE species. A classic 3 mm, gemmy golden-yellow monazite-(Ce) prism is aesthetically set on the miniature dolomite matrix wedge. The base has been sawed to enhance the fine display quality. The piece has a fine provenance, having been in the France Museum of Natural History. Ex Francesco Bedogne Colllection # 1706. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
