Item Description

A very important locality specimen with a rich coating of sharp, GEMMY, sub-mm brown monazite crystals and a minor associated anatase, from this old classic locality. It is very rich, and sparkly as a display specimen. There once was with the piece, according to the former owners catalogue, an old Krantz label with price of 30 Mark - a small fortune at the time! The label has been lost but a scan survives and so the pieces comes with a reprint on card stock of the old Krantz label with the obsolete name for monazite (turnerite). the label and handwriting date from around 1890-1900.
