A classic example of this well known material featuring bright, metallic, foliated, hexagonal, silvery color crystals of splendent Molybdenite free of matrix from the classic area around Kingsgate in New South Wales. Great shape overall and displays beautifully as you can see from the photos. This is some of the most well-known Molybdenite from any world locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4390). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous Alpine locale.
