Molybdenite

Item Description

Wilberforce is one of the best known localities for specimens of Fluoro-richterite (formerly Fluorrichterite), and occasionally some attractive Molybdenites have been found. This piece is a great example as it features a beautiful, bright silvery-grey metallic, tabular crystal of Molybdenite measuring 1.3 cm on Diopside matrix. The piece is three-dimensional, great quality for the material. It's certainly and older specimenl from this well known calcium metamorphic deposit. Surprisingly the piece is not repaired, and is actually damage free as far as I can tell.
