Item Description

A showy and attractive association specimen featuring soft pink colored scalenohedral manganese-bearing Calcite measuring up to 2.0 cm on attractive matrix of sharp Quartz crystal matrix. Very aesthetic and good quality for the material. These pieces are not common with Calcite and Quartz together in showy display specimens. The Calcite is undamaged, with only minor roughness to the matrix. Specimens such as this are not common on the market, and this is certainly from an older discovery, circa late 1970s or early 1980s. Interestingly, the piece comes with a label from noted New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin and another label from The Treasury Room, which was the name of Stuart and Donna Wilensky's business back in 1991 when the piece was sold for a mere $85!
