Item Description

These are some of the most recognizable Mn-Calcite specimens in the world. This particular piece features dozens of semi-skeletal rhombohedral crystals of Mn-Calcite free of matrix in a sculptural formation. The Calcites have a truly unique look to them and nearly and them are pristine, only very slight damage. These pieces are no longer being mined, and are now some of the great "classics" from Peru. The largest crystal measures 1.7 cm. From an old East Coast collection, hard to find these days.
