Item Description
Classic, rich and highly desirable large manganoan calcite from the famous Idarado Mine. Pretty pastel-pink, translucent, stepped-growth, nailhead scalenohedrons with satin lustre faces, to 3.6 cm cover the sculptural triangular plate. This well-known San Juan mine closed in 1978. The interior is pristine on this excellent, rich and showy piece. SHOCKING Neon-pink fluorescence! These are now rare USA classics, hard to find in tis quality - especially at auction. and this is a good one!
