Item Description
Mixite is a rare bismuth copper arsenate that is typically most appreciated in micro examples. This piece features some small areas of Mixite on matrix, but when they're viewed under magnification, they are very attractive. Semi spherical group and acicular "tufts" of Mixite can be seen on the display side of the piece. We have photographed the specimen with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. This is the FIRST specimen of Mixite that I have seen from the Anton Mine, so I have to believe they are very rare. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#D-925). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). A really interesting German classic from the famous locality.
