Item Description

This very historic lead deposit dates back to the 12th century, and is best known for its attractive Cerussite and Pyromorphite specimens from the famous oxidized zone at the mine. Another secondary mineral found at Stribro is the lead oxide, Minium, which is often found in small, bright reddish-orange spots on Quartz matrix. This piece is a great example of this hard to find material. This mine is completely defucnt and will never produce again, so if you're a completionist, don't miss out on this one. This is the ONLY piece of this species that we've had to offer from this locality, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
