Item Description
Broken Hill is famous for its beautiful color specimens. This large lead / zinc / silver deposit started back in 1883 and operated for many decades. This piece is a classic and hard to find miniature specimen of Minium featuring glowing red-orange colored Minium sitting on lead ore matrix. Very attractive up close, and certainly worth adding to any secondary ore mineral collection or a suite of Broken Hill minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1195). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
