Item Description
This is a classic Minium specimen from this world-famous locality. Chemically, Minium is lead oxide, which seems simplistic enough, but good specimens are not terribly common worldwide. This piece is a fairly showy example, richly covered with orange-red Minium on all sides. Interestingly, we found on tiny semi-spherical aggregate of a somewhat greenish-silvery hue that could be Chlorargyrite, but I can't find a specimen anywhere for comparison that features the two species together from Broken Hill, so it might be something even more obscure. With that said, it's still an eye-catching example of this fairly rare material from literally one of the greatest mineral localities in history.
