Item Description
The Ojuela Mine is one of the most iconic mineral producing localities, not only in Mexico, but the world. This is a classic Mimetite specimen from this well-known mine features excellent orange-yellow color Mimetite in semi-spherical aggregates measuring up to 6 mm long which are associated with a couple of lovely orange colored, sharp, lustrous, gemmy tabular crystals of Wulfenite measuring 5 mm on oxidized matrix. We've offered several of these yellow Mimetites from Ojuela recently but this particular combination of yellow Mimetite and yellow Wulfenite and has only been seen on a handful of pieces. Unlike the contemporary green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine often associated with Wulfenite, the yellow material is older, and typically less common on the market. This piece came out around 40 years ago. Good quality, with VERY little damage and really attractive in person.
