Mimetite with Wulfenite

The Ojuela Mine in Mexico is one the greatest mineral localities in the world, producing a large number of iconic specimens. Here we have an specimen featuring many excellent resinous yellow-orange color Mimetite aggregates in semi-spherical form measuring which are associated with a few sharp, lustrous, gemmy tabular crystals of Wulfenite on the lower side of the piece, with minor attached matrix. The Mimetites are not quite prisms or balls, but somewhere in between. I've described them before as "elongated globular" groups. The largest Mimetite aggregate measures about 1.3 cm. Overall, the Mimetites are in great condition, though a few rough spots can be seen here and there. This particular combination of yellow Mimetite and yellow Wulfenite and is not terribly common from this locality. We've seen plenty of green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine often associated with Wulfenite, but the yellow material is older, and to my mind, less common than the green.
