Mimetite with Fluorite (rare association)

Item Description

The Clara Mine in Germany is one of the great European localities, not only for the number of species found (nearly 500 minerals have been reported!), but the quality as well. It's also a great micro mineral locality and this piece is a great example of said material featuring gorgeous rich yellow-orange colored, resinous, tapered hexagonal crystals and groups of crystals measuring to a few mm, associated with a few very rarely seen spots of translucent blue-green Fluorite on Quartz matrix. The crystals are best seen under magnification, and we've taken several micro photos with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. To find Mimetite and Fluorite together on the same specimen is quite rare from the Clara Mine, and this is a great combo piece for any fan of micro material, German minerals, worldwide Mimetites or specifically minerals from the Clara Mine.
