Item Description
A wonderful association specimen from what is considered by many to be the world's great mineral locality. This small cabinet specimen features wonderful, strong yellow color, hexagonal prismatic crystals along with semi-spherical clusters of Mimetite measuring up to 5 mm, which are associated with slightly smoky, gemmy/translucent crystals of Cerussite measuring up to 1.1 cm on matrix. The Mimetite actually transitions into more of a green hue in spots, similar to Mimetites from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. The prismatic crystals of Mimetite are beautiful to view up close, as they have wonderful pyramidal terminations. It should be noted that most of the Cerussite crystals are contacted / broken, but a few of the them are in good shape. A classic association piece from this world-renowned locality. This piece has an additional value because of the fact that it came from Luis Antonio Bravo Teixeira-Leite, who was an amateur mineralogist and mineral collector who ended up discovering a new species from Tsumeb, which was named in his honor, Leiteite.
