Item Description

Really unusual example of these old mimetites, formerly given a species level name Campylite but now considered just a very weird mimetite varietal in modern naming - nevertheless one of the great European classics of the 1800s! These sit on stalactites (hollow and otherwise) to 1.4 cm, and we think they are replacements after now-gone pyromorphites. The orange crystals to 3-4 mm are lustrous and robust. They have a soft orange fluorescence. From the noted historic classics collection of Richard 'Dick' Hauck of New Jersey. VALUED $750-1000
