Item Description

Campylite is a well-known variety of Mimetite, with some of the finest examples coming from Roughten Gill in England. The varietal name relates to the rounded, barrell-shaped habit. These rounded aggregates of curved crystals are classic for this locality, and they range up to about 9 mm. The color is orange, with portions grading into bright green. Both colors are classic for Campylite, and the luster is fair. This is a good, representative specimen for the locality.
