Item Description
Not your typical Mimetite from Santa Eulalia which has more often produced semi radial aggregates or "clusters" of crystals as this piece features more single prismatic hexagonal crystals free standing on matrix. The Mimetites are very sharp and lustrous with a somewhat golden-brown / yellow-brown hue. The largest Mimetite measures 3 mm. VERY little damage very attractive up close. A great old time piece that would make a fine addition to any Mexican or Santa Eulalia suite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6246). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
