Item Description
Scintillating, gem, golden-amber to honey-yellow, tapered mimetite crystals cover both sides of this striking and incredibly rich specimen from Tsumeb. This is a rare habit for the species, seen at its best from Tsumeb in these "pointy" crystals. There are fewer crystals on the front, but they are a bright golden-amber and they stand out more, especially the 2.0 cm stem-like crystal cluster. The crystals reach about 9 mm. The undulating back is literally festooned with hundreds of honey-yellow crystals. Beautiful and hefty, two-sided mimetite, on the sulfide matrix from the Rob Smith Collection. 459 grams or just over a pound. valued $1500
