Item Description
Mineral specimens are RARE from this old obscure extinct Nevada silver-lead ore mine and this is a possibly UNIQUE pseudomorph and combination species specimen. MINDAT lists mimetite, but NOT vanadinite. Fibrous orange mimetite has replaced some of the rare, sharp, hexagonal orange mimetite crystals. The crystals reach 6 mm and are aesthetically clustered on the limestone matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9243 and acquired from the Lidstrom's in August, 1981. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An impressive and singular combination pseudo from this mine.
