Mimetite on Smithsonite

A rich, showy and excellent mimetite combination specimen from renowned Tsumeb. Sparkling, translucent, sculptural wheatsheaves of elongated glassy mimetite prisms are festooned across the top of the shapely matrix. The beautiful clusters are up to about 1.0 cm long and rest on a starkly contrasting solid hefty matrix of tiny porcelaneous bone-white smithsonite rhombs. Combinations of this style, richness and quality are uncommon from here and this is a very fine and aesthetic example of the species. From a lead species collection and formerly in the Arnold Goldstein Collection. Valued at $1500-1750.
